I usually charge $ 100 a month -flat rate- on my website for advertising. I currently have a client that wants pay per click. I have no problem tracking the clicks- but I am not sure what a fair rate is- or if there is a customary range depending on your site’s street cred.

To define how much should you charge for every click you have to answer two questions first:

1. How much should you charge for 1 CPM (Cost per Thousand impressions)

2. What is the average click-through ratio of your website (number of clicks / number of impressions)

Usually the cost per CPM varies between $ 0.5 and $ 10. That has to do with how much targeted is the audience which

is exposed to the advertising message.

If your site has a specific visitors profile then you can select a price that is closer to $ 10 per CPM.

The average click-through ratio is about 5%, of course this varies a lot and depends on many factors like the effectiveness of the advertising message, the banner attractiveness etc. Supposing that the average click-through ratio of your website is 5% then the charge per click should be between $ 0.01 to $ 0.2. Again if the visitors of your site constitute a specific target group then the $ 0.2 per click is just fine.

How Long To see results with article marketing?

Hi, I began on satur day

submitting to approx.

25 article directories, and I have submitted 4 articles to each one, and I intend to submit 1 per day. How long do you usually wait before seeing your first visitor? or do you know any other traffic technique (not ppc) to get targeted trafic fast?

You could see results after a few days if your articles are exceptionally good. On the other hand, if you are just submitting articles left and right that is just “filler” content for the search engines, you are going to wait a long time before you see any result – most likely it won’t be worth it at all.

You should also understand that article marketing is just one of many methods used to market an online business website – it is not really a business in itself. Yes, I know a lot of people will say that it is, but the fact is you will get much better results if you compound your efforts into your own authority website, instead of just submitting a lot of individual articles.

Google’s own study revealed that only around 50% of businesses in Australia have adopted to the web, which is something that should be remedied if businesses are to experience growth and maintain a competitive edge in this day and age, says Schramko.

“There are ample reasons why businesses should go online.

The report attributed the 6.5% decline in revenues to budget cuts from advertisers and yet the same report showed a 13% increase in revenue from digital advertising. Another report states that US online advertising surged in the first quarter of 2011. You connect the dots.” said Schramko.

According to Schramko, the majority of the 50% of Australia’s businesses that have not yet adopted to the web argue that the internet is somehow irrelevant to their business, while others attribute fears of cost, complexity and time restrictions as a major hindrance.

“These arguments would have been true a few years back”, said Schramko who further explained that “there are courses, like FastWebFormula, that will cut through the complexities and time restrictions of internet marketing step-by-step.”

“Business owners also tend to shy away from costs – especially if they are increasing” Schramko explained.
